My daughter is turning sixteen and I was looking for some unique ideas for her party. I was told by my friend that a good place for accessories was online where she got the supplies for her daughters party. So I decided to give it a try. I couldn’t believe all the nice table accessories and party favors that were available. I ran across some pretty neat ideas for her birthday celebration. I found these cute little cookie cutters in the shape of the number 16 and use it to make cookies for the party.

Since it was her birthday, I let her decide what she wanted and she decided to party at the roller rink and have her friends stay overnight. I immediately got on the phone and reserved tables at the local roller rink. Then I invited all of her best girl friends. It didn’t cost as much as I thought it would. They offered pizza, hot dogs and soft drinks at a very reasonable price. I got the house prepared for the party that was to continue after skating. I decorated the house with birthday accessories,laid out snacks and put my sweet 16 cookies, I made, on the tables.

When I was searching the web for birthday ideas, I ordered a few other things besides the cookie cutters. Since I was getting by so cheap with this party, I ordered extra gifts from the selection of sweet sixteen favors for her and her friends. I ordered some adorable pink photo albums for all the girls, and disposable cameras for them to take pictures of the party. They all knew about the cameras, so they could take pictures at the roller rink, but they had no clue about the albums I bought for them. Even though they took a lot of photos at the roller rink, they all saved some picture taking for the sleepover.

I also bought each of them little cosmetic bags with their initials on the front. The cosmetic bags were just the beginning, I also bought manicure sets and purse mirrors for each of the girls. Each of the girls also received a very decorative favor box filled with candies. As soon as we got home, we celebrated with a sweet sixteen favor with cake and ice cream and she opened all of her presents. There were plenty of snacks and drinks, girlie teen movies for them to watch, so they were good to go for the evening. They turned on some of their music and danced around for a while, then they took out their manicure sets and started to work on nails, and give make overs to each other. They were having a lot of fun together.

When the noise starting dwindling down they got out the bowls of popcorn and started watching their movies. I wanted to give them as much space as I could and not intrude on their girl time, but I got an invitation to join them for a movie. That was such a nice thing to ask me to join them. They were able to watch two of the movies we rented before eyes started closing. Now it was down to just me and my daughter and she didn’t make it very long. Just before she closed her eyes, she let me know how much she appreciated her super birthday party.

When I got up in the morning the girls were already downstairs and had eaten, then straightened up everything from the party. I was very impressed with their thoughtfulness in helping me out. They hung around with my daughter for a couple of hours, then the kids started heading for home. As they were leaving, the girls thanked me for the wonderful time they had and all of the sweet sixteen ideas I bought for them. So, I guess that makes me a cool mom, hey?

The party was to continue at our house after the skating, so I had to get everything ready. I put out the cookies I had made, along with a few other snacks, and set up birthday decorations.

After the second movie, one by one, they started falling asleep. Now it was down to just me and my daughter and she didn’t make it very long. Just before she closed her eyes, she let me know how much she appreciated her super birthday party.
